Free Community Information Evening - 1 Sep 2010, 6.30pm - 8.30pm The Women's Centre for Health Matters and SHFPACT (Sexual Health & Family Planning ACT) are jointly hosting a forum titled "Making Your 40s Fabulous: Your Hormones. Your Libido. Your Health', for women to discuss issues affecting them in their 40s: hormonal changes, physical changes, libido, sleep, emotional health and the importance of maintaining health for the future. Following a webcast by the Jean Hailes Foundation for Women's Health, there will be a question & answer session with a panel of local health experts. IUD Insertion Workshop for GPs
SHFPACT is offering an IUD Insertion Workshops for GPs (4 hours) on 21 August 2010, from 9am to 1pm. This course is accredited by the RACGP and attracts 40 Category 1 CME Points for the theory component, and additional points for the clinical attachment on application by participating practitioners to the RACGP. The workshop covers: - Up-to-date info on IUDs available in Australia
- Practice Consultation & Insertion (on dummies)
- Managing Problems with IUDs
Pre-reading Materials are supplied. The workshop will take place at the SHFPACT Clinical Training School, Level One, 28 University Avenue, Canberra. At the completion of this workshop, GPs will be able to independently perform IUD insertions and counselling. |

This 3 day course is designed to allow participants to support and engage people with disabilities in their daily lives and provides positive strategies for appropriate behaviours.
